XanMod Kernel

Local mirror of http://deb.xanmod.org — codenames noble (Ubuntu 24.04 LTS) and resolute, components main + non-free · raw browse

This is a partial, home-hosted mirror of the official XanMod repository. Packages are unmodified and signed with the official XanMod key. Project info: xanmod.org.

APT Repository

1. Register the PGP key

wget -qO - https://apt.diffused-art.ru/archive.key | sudo gpg --dearmor -vo /etc/apt/keyrings/xanmod-archive-keyring.gpg
Key served from this mirror (copy of dl.xanmod.org/archive.key): D38D 7D1D A134 9567 ADED  882D 86F7 D09E E734 E623 — XanMod Kernel <kernel@xanmod.org>

2. Add the repository

This mirror currently carries noble and resolute (see /repo/deb.xanmod.org/dists/). The non-free component is included, so NVIDIA driver packages below are available right away:

echo "deb [signed-by=/etc/apt/keyrings/xanmod-archive-keyring.gpg] https://apt.diffused-art.ru/repo/deb.xanmod.org $(lsb_release -sc) main non-free" | sudo tee /etc/apt/sources.list.d/xanmod-release.list

Use this line only on noble / resolute. For other codenames (bookworm, trixie, plucky, questing, …) fall back to the official http://deb.xanmod.org line from xanmod.org.

3. Update and install

sudo apt update && sudo apt install linux-xanmod-x64v3

If necessary, install minimal dependencies to build external modules:

sudo apt install --no-install-recommends dkms libelf-dev clang lld llvm

4. Reboot.

Repository content: linux-metadata, linux-image, linux-headers, llvm-defaults, llvm-toolchain-21, dkms, scx-scheds, nvidia-graphics-drivers, nvidia-settings, nvidia-prime.

Kernel flavour depends on your CPU (x86-64 psABI level): linux-xanmod-x64v2 (≈2009+) or linux-xanmod-x64v3 (≈2015+); check with the official psABI check script.

NVIDIA Graphics Drivers

NVIDIA driver packages for supported Debian-based distributions, compatible with all XanMod kernel versions (LLVM builds). [src]
Production Branch: 595.112.07 · New Feature Branch: 615.78.08

The repository line above already includes the non-free component, so no extra step is needed:

sudo apt update && sudo apt install nvidia-driver-595-open

For proprietary kernel modules use nvidia-driver-5xx (without -open). README: 595 Series · 615 Series

Reboot.
